In November it might have come as a bit of a shock to British taxpayers to see that Tracy Brabin, the Mayor of West Yorkshire, at the C40 World Mayors Summit in Brazil, sponsored by Bloomberg Philanthropies:

Sadiq Khan, co-Chair of C40 Cities, headed up the conference and at least one of his £150k-per-year deputies was in attendance.

That is Mete Coban MBE, his Deputy Mayor for the Environment (who once faked a football career and racked up 40,000 air miles while working as Hackney Council’s Cabinet Member for the Environment):
