Labour are hypocrites to point the finger at the Right

Last week it was announced that the Government will “ban political party donations from foreign-owned companies” in order to curb overseas interference in elections. It plans to do this through “The Representation of the People Bill”, which will also introduce voting rights to 1.7 million people aged 16 and 17. Steve Reed, the Local Government Secretary, said the Bill would “usher in a new era for our democracy – one that protects against foreign interference and empowers young people”. Yeah right…

The Bill is mostly a response to left-wing fears that Elon Musk might very generously fund Reform. The Government has also commissioned a review by former senior civil servant Philip Rycroft into foreign interference in UK politics, following Welsh Reform UK leader Nathan Gill being jailed for accepting bribes to promote Russian interests. It will certainly be interesting to see how comprehensive the review is, which is due to be published in March. The fact is that the Left are no strangers to foreign interference themselves. In today’s piece I will do my own “review” of foreign interference that the Left engages in. Apparently this stuff doesn’t count, though:
