“Refugee Week” begins

How will you be celebrating?

Did you know it’s Refugee Week? “The world’s largest arts and culture festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.”

The event runs from 15-21 June, coordinated by Counterpoints Arts – which (FOR ONCE) hasn’t had much taxpayer funding (£4,480 in government grants for 2025). However, the organisation is funded by the usual suspects when it comes to promoting open borders eg. The Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Unbound Philanthropy as well as Arts Council England (which receives public funding).

The theme of this year’s Refugee Week is “COURAGE”. Partner organisations include:
